Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Chinatown (Los Angeles) by George Demont Otis. The price achieved of USD 6,400.00 (€ 5,904.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Demont Otis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring Sleepy Hollow, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,990.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chinatown (Los Angeles) von George Demont Otis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.400,00 (€ 5.904,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Demont Otis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring Sleepy Hollow beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.990,13) versteigert wurde.
