Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work After the Snow 12 x 16 in. framed 16 3/4 x 20 3/4 in. by George Demont Otis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,430.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Demont Otis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Sleepy Hollow in August this year with an auction result of USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,990.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit After the Snow 12 x 16 in. framed 16 3/4 x 20 3/4 in. von George Demont Otis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.430,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Demont Otis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring Sleepy Hollow im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.990,13).
