Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Christies in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain, which included the work Exhibit by George Brecht. The price achieved of EUR 3,687.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Brecht have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exhibit 47, From Book of the Tumbler on Fire in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,710.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exhibit von George Brecht zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.687,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Brecht auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exhibit 47, From Book of the Tumbler on Fire im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.710,45).
