In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work Classical figures in an arcadian landscape by George Barret the Younger. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 836.50 (€ 1,183.88), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Barret the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Solitude: An Italianate Landscape With A Figure Reclining Beneath Trees in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,695.08).

Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book durch, in der auch die Arbeit Classical figures in an arcadian landscape von George Barret the Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 836,50 (€ 1.183,88) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Barret the Younger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Solitude: An Italianate Landscape With A Figure Reclining Beneath Trees im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.695,08).
