Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Barrington falls on the river Clyde; and Cora Lyn Falls on the river Clyde by George B. Yarnold was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2006. The price achieved of GBP 456.00 (€ 668.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George B. Yarnold - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fisherman By A Weir; And A Rocky Waterfall, which sold at auction in August 2004 for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,503.32).
