Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pleased to meet you by George Augustus Holmes was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,771.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Augustus Holmes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Welcome Home in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,380.79).

Die Arbeit Pleased to meet you von George Augustus Holmes kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.771,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Augustus Holmes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Welcome Home im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.380,79).
