In the Old Masters & 19th Century Art auction, the work A classical landscape with Dido and Aeneas sheltering from the storm, Carthage beyond sold for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,573.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Arnald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, With Figures And Livestock In The Foreground, And Glastonbury Tor Beyond, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,640.75).
