Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A figure punting on a lake by George A. Boyle. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 688.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George A. Boyle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in February 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,900.00 (€ 11,291.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A figure punting on a lake von George A. Boyle zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 688,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George A. Boyle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset im Februar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.900,00 (€ 11.291,30).
