Artwork auctioned at four times the pre-set estimate
When the work Portrait of a boy holding a ball by Georg Achen was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in May this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - price of DKK 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at DKK 13,000.00 (€ 1,744.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Achen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danish interior With Afternoon Sun in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,510.96).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a boy holding a ball von Georg Achen im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – DKK 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit DKK 13.000,00 (€ 1.744,88) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Achen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Danish interior With Afternoon Sun im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.510,96).
