Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Geoffrey Tibble achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2003. In the 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the auction, the work Figures in an interior sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,773.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Tibble - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Audition, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,363.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Geoffrey Tibble erzielte im November 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the wurde die Arbeit Figures in an interior für GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.773,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Tibble mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Audition beobachtet, die im März 2007 für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.363,84) versteigert wurde.
