The work THE GREAT JAPANESE ZERO YEN NOTE by Genpei Akasegawa was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,995.66), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Genpei Akasegawa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Great Japanese Zero Yen Note in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,635.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit THE GREAT JAPANESE ZERO YEN NOTE von Genpei Akasegawa wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.995,66) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Genpei Akasegawa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Great Japanese Zero Yen Note im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.635,83).
