Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A rainy day by Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2002. The price achieved of EUR 822.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 700.00 – 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stillife with flowers, which sold at auction in July 2003 for EUR 2,031.50.
