Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries', which included the work Young North African Man Posing by Geert Grauss. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geert Grauss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Mille Colonnes, Amsterdam in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 31,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young North African Man Posing von Geert Grauss zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geert Grauss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Café Mille Colonnes, Amsterdam im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 31.450,00.
