A top price for Gaspar van den Hoecke
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art, which included the work Balthasar'S Feast by Gaspar van den Hoecke. The »bidding war« ended at USD 46,000.00 (€ 30,995.22), 15% above the upper estimate. With this result, Balthasar'S Feast is even the most expensive work of art by Gaspar van den Hoecke that we have observed at auctions so far.
