Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (from the portfolio 'Women are Beautiful') by Garry Winogrand was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,024.00 (€ 925.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Winogrand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Women Are Beautiful in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 91,862.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (from the portfolio 'Women are Beautiful') von Garry Winogrand im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.024,00 (€ 925,69) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Winogrand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Women Are Beautiful im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 91.862,48).
