Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Angel Series (Three Works) by Gao Fei was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 4,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 851.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gao Fei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Angels Fly In The Sky, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,002.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Angel Series (Three Works) von Gao Fei im März 2021 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 851,57) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gao Fei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Angels Fly In The Sky beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 2.250,00 (€ 2.002,49) versteigert wurde.
