It achieved a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,777.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Gao Cen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lofty Recluse In An Autumn Mountain in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 139,651.80).

Die Arbeit Pavilions On The Cliff von Gao Cen kam im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.777,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Cen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lofty Recluse In An Autumn Mountain im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 139.651,80).
