Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gabriella Rainer Istvanffy could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work On the lookout; and Ready for play changed hands for GBP 352.50 (€ 514.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriella Rainer Istvanffy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the garden, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,236.38).
