Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gabriel-François Doyen could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction, the work Recto: A Bishop Destroying Idols Verso: Three Studies, Including A Group Of Figures changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,451.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriel-François Doyen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'La Lecture': A young woman reading with a dog on her knees in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 94,000.00 (€ 100,771.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gabriel-François Doyen konnte im Januar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni wechselte die Arbeit Recto: A Bishop Destroying Idols Verso: Three Studies, Including A Group Of Figures für USD 4.688,00 (€ 3.451,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriel-François Doyen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'La Lecture': A young woman reading with a dog on her knees im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.000,00 (€ 100.771,87).
