In July 2007 Christies in New York held the auction House Sale, which included the work View of the Hellersee; and a companion painting by Friedrich Schwinge. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,280.00 (€ 1,662.90), 52% above the upper estimate. This high result makes View of the Hellersee; and a companion painting the most expensive artwork by Friedrich Schwinge that we have observed at auctions so far.
