Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Late Afternoon On A Continental Street by Frederik Wilhelm Svendsen for GBP 155.35 (€ 229.92). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Frederik Wilhelm Svendsen have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April this year by the work Scenery from Christianshavn, Copenhagen at DKK 2,000.00 (€ 268.30).
