Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work In The Artist'S Studio by Frederik Vermehren. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 4,705.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederik Vermehren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a businessmann, which sold at auction in January 2024 for DKK 17,000.00 (€ 14,857.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Artist'S Studio von Frederik Vermehren zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.313,00 (€ 4.705,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederik Vermehren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a businessmann beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für DKK 17.000,00 (€ 14.857,54) versteigert wurde.
