This work of art by Frederick William Meyer could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction, the work Walking By The Sea; A Rocky Coast changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,138.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Frederick William Meyer have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work Yachts on the open sea; and Crossing the horizon at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,544.09).
