Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Fisherman Mending A Net by Frederick James McNamara Evans was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,706.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick James McNamara Evans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Flute Player in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,258.22).
