Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping off a jetty by Frederick James Aldridge was sold in the At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in April 2003. The price achieved of GBP 235.00 (€ 306.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick James Aldridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishing vessels in calm seas in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,223.17).
