Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fishing vessels off the coast by Frederick James Aldridge was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 587.50 (€ 942.72). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick James Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing vessels in calm seas, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,223.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fishing vessels off the coast von Frederick James Aldridge im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 587,50 (€ 942,72) den Besitzer.
