In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Fishing vessels off the coast sold for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,421.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick James Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing vessels in calm seas, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,223.17).
