Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work St Paul'S From Bankside by Frederick Edward Joseph Goff. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,063.26), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Edward Joseph Goff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work London Bridge With St Paul'S Cathedral Beyond, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,357.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Paul'S From Bankside von Frederick Edward Joseph Goff zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.063,26) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Edward Joseph Goff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit London Bridge With St Paul'S Cathedral Beyond beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 4.320,00 (€ 6.357,17) versteigert wurde.
