Valter was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction at Christies in London in July 2004. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 657.25 (€ 993.25), 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick E. Valter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep and cattle resting in the shade, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,085.58).

Valter wurde im Juli 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 657,25 (€ 993,25) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick E. Valter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep and cattle resting in the shade beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.085,58) versteigert wurde.
