In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Congolese Fwambasi by Fréderic Trigo Piula. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,531.56), 33% above the upper estimate. Other works by Fréderic Trigo Piula have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,336.50) in October 2018 for the work Congolese ta Télé.
