In July last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Roman Bridge, Nyons by Fred Yates. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,436.12), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fred Yates have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Pair of Still Lifes in October this year with an auction result of GBP 14,080.00 (€ 16,167.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roman Bridge, Nyons von Fred Yates zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.436,12) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fred Yates auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Pair of Still Lifes im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.080,00 (€ 16.167,75).
