Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, which included the work A landscape with architectural ruins and a figure in the foreground by Franz Kobell. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,123.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Kobell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ideale Landschaft bei aufziehendem Gewitter. in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 25,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape with architectural ruins and a figure in the foreground von Franz Kobell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.123,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Kobell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ideale Landschaft bei aufziehendem Gewitter. im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.000,00.
