Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The interior of a large sitting room looking towards a double window; and The interior of the same room looking towards the door by Franz Alt was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2005. The price achieved of USD 4,200.00 (€ 3,218.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Franz Alt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venezianischer Platz in March 2007 with an auction result of EUR 15,600.00.

Die Arbeit The interior of a large sitting room looking towards a double window; and The interior of the same room looking towards the door von Franz Alt wurde im Januar 2005 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.200,00 (€ 3.218,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Alt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venezianischer Platz im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 15.600,00.
