This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frans Vervloet; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Zwölf Ansichten von Pompeji sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of EUR 74,400.00.
