Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady Wearing A Black Dress And A Mink Stoll by Frans Pourbus the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,648.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Pourbus the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young woman, aged 17, holding a small spaniel wearing a collar of bells in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 478,800.00 (€ 394,561.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady Wearing A Black Dress And A Mink Stoll von Frans Pourbus the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.648,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Pourbus the Elder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young woman, aged 17, holding a small spaniel wearing a collar of bells im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 478.800,00 (€ 394.561,19).
