Despite a disappointment, a good price for Frank Trefny
When the work Interior With White Pumpkins by Frank Trefny was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,091.25). Despite this disappointing result, Interior With White Pumpkins is the most expensive artwork by Frank Trefny that we have observed at auction so far.
