Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sheep and ducks in a field by Francois Vandeverdonck was sold in the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in August 2003. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,180.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francois Vandeverdonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep and ducks at a pond ; and A donkey, sheep and ducks at a pond, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,717.29).
