Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Woman in a lounge-chair by François Pycke. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by François Pycke have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2006 the work Centaurs chased by Jupiter was auctioned for EUR 3,840.00.
