Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by François Martin-Kavel could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures auction, the work A good smoke changed hands for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,915.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by François Martin-Kavel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work François Martin-Kavel | Odalisque in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 13,230.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von François Martin-Kavel konnte im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit A good smoke für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.915,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François Martin-Kavel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit François Martin-Kavel | Odalisque im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.230,00.
