Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An extensive river landscape with a castle, an artist sketching on the bank in the foreground by François-Léonard Dupont was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,828.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François-Léonard Dupont - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nature Morte À La Pendule Et Vase De Sèvresfrançois-Léonard Dupont, Called Dupont-Watteau ; Still Life With A Gilt Bronze Mantle Clock And Sèvres Porcelain Vase ; Oil On Panel, which sold at auction in June 2012 for EUR 60,750.00.
