Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a man, half-length, in a black coat and neckcloth; and Portrait of a woman, half-length, in a pink dress and bonnet with flowers by Jean François Sablet was sold in the Old Masters & British Paintings auction at Christies in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,856.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean François Sablet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait D’Une Artiste Dessinant D’Après Une Antiquité in December 2013 with an auction result of CHF 125,000.00 (€ 101,876.04).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a man, half-length, in a black coat and neckcloth; and Portrait of a woman, half-length, in a pink dress and bonnet with flowers von Jean François Sablet wurde im Juli 2013 in der Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.856,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean François Sablet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait D’Une Artiste Dessinant D’Après Une Antiquité im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 125.000,00 (€ 101.876,04).
