Despite a disappointment, a good price for François-Guillaume Ménageot
When the work A Lady, Said To Be Madame Danloux, Nursing Her Child In A Drawing Room by François-Guillaume Ménageot was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,451.19). Despite this disappointing result, A Lady, Said To Be Madame Danloux, Nursing Her Child In A Drawing Room is the most expensive artwork by François-Guillaume Ménageot that we have observed at auction so far.
