Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work La Madeleine, Paris by François Gerome. The price achieved of USD 1,000.00 (€ 658.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François Gerome - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mixed flowers in a vase on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower; and another similar, overlooking Paris, which sold at auction in January 2002 for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,447.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Madeleine, Paris von François Gerome zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 658,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von François Gerome mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mixed flowers in a vase on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower; and another similar, overlooking Paris beobachtet, die im Januar 2002 für GBP 881,25 (€ 1.447,90) versteigert wurde.
