Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work A busy day in a French town by François Etienne Villeret. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,336.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François Etienne Villeret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Place Vendome, Paris, which sold at auction in April 2021 for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,693.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit A busy day in a French town von François Etienne Villeret zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.336,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von François Etienne Villeret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Place Vendome, Paris beobachtet, die im April 2021 für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.693,19) versteigert wurde.
