Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Prospective Suitor by François Brunery was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,424.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Brunery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le pont d'amour in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 256,750.00 (€ 414,291.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Prospective Suitor von François Brunery wurde im Februar 2013 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
