This artwork by François Brunery achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2016. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work L'Eglise en danger sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,857.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Brunery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le pont d'amour in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 256,750.00 (€ 414,291.85).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Brunery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le pont d'amour im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 256.750,00 (€ 414.291,85).
