Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Day'S News by François Brunery was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. The price achieved of USD 5,938.00 (€ 5,259.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Brunery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le pont d'amour in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 256,750.00 (€ 414,291.85).
