Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Two girls spinning and knitting by François Bonvin was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 6,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,902.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Bonvin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'écolier in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 203,504.06).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Two girls spinning and knitting von François Bonvin im Januar 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 6.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.902,55) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Bonvin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'écolier im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 203.504,06).
