Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Franciszka Themerson was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,914.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franciszka Themerson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piéton Apocalypse, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,854.74).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.914,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Franciszka Themerson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piéton Apocalypse beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.854,74) versteigert wurde.
