Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Franciscus Xavery could be acquired at Bonhams in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A Drover With Cattle And Sheep Before A Stream changed hands for GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,510.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franciscus Xavery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Landscape With Peasants And Their Herd Resting Near A River; A Landscape With Shepherds And A Child Resting Together With Their Herd, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,505.26).
